Product Details:
 Our Alexander Young Jackson canvas transfer art prints are open editions and come complete with a wooden stretcher frame on the back. The stretcher frame is about 1/2" thick and the sides of the print are covered with black art edge tape. The tape is not seen from the front. Prints have a durable UV protective coating. Customers can hang them as delivered or can have them framed locally without the need for glass over the image.

A.Y. JACKSON (1882-1974)

"A.Y." as he was fondly known, was born in Montreal. Like other members of the Group of Seven, he was trained as a commercial artist and for many years made his living by that means.

In addition to his work with the Group of Seven, his long career included serving as a war artist during World War I.

He was a founding member of the Group of Seven painting Northern Ontario, the Arctic, the Rocky Mountains, and the Prairies, as well as his beloved Quebec, where his countless sketching expeditions earned him the nickname Pere Raquette because he could be seen wearing snowshoes.
