Humanity
and its vanity
God
is there in your dog
In the ant and the elephant
The cat and the caterpillar
The horse or the hog
He is there even in the vulture
In the smallest creature
Whatever its size in nature
Never mind which feature
Man and animal we are all
Sons and daughters of the Sun
But
man is cruel and selfish
He eats flesh and fish
And there is so much harm
On his bloody farm
Earth is round and to share
And animals are not silent
But it is man who is deaf
We
don’t need beasts to die
And end up as meat in a pie
Their fate is to live and mate
Not to finish in your plate
You
could at least spare the red blood
Of those who move free around the world
Since you can’t do without the green sap
Of those who directly draw from the earth
Unless
to relieve suffering
It is not for man to take life but God

Horror
show
Those bears that have to suffer the unbearable
Cruelly hooked by the nose
For the sadists to applause
The most unendurable dance
The elephants’ performance
In
fear of the brutal trainer
Of the inhumane circus
Could seem less harsh
But
shedding the bull’s blood
Is undoubtedly as barbarous
In spite of all the decorum
In the revolting arena
Same
for the hens and dogs
As for the dolphin or tiger
All forced to enter
In the horror circle
The
violent man who annoys
Every single animal
When will he understand
That they are not toys?

Man
may be mad
Animals
beware
Some men come and lend you a hand
While others try to erase you from the land
One day they give you bread
The next they want you dead
Animals
beware
Man may be duplicitous
And can be malicious
Here offering assistance
There inflicting sufferance
Animals beware
Be careful who you trust
Man can be so unjust
Stroking you here
Killing you there
Yes
animals beware
Of man and his treachery
Otherwise his betrayals
Will have the end of you

Compassion
Those
ducks I love to see them live
While others like to eat their sick liver
Never
mind from which valley or river
Be they from the sea or the land
Do they walk swim or slither
From
the ant to the elephant
The pig to the pigeon
The mouse to the titmouse
The roach to the cockroach
The snail to the whale
The chimp to the shrimp
The rat to the bat
The cat to the caterpillar
The fly to the butterfly
The dog to the frog
The horse to the hog
Do
they have scales shells fur or feathers
I respect and love all animals
Like some acknowledge their sole dog
