after the home of the Scandinavian Gods. Mt. Asgard
rises about 3,000 feet above the tongue of the Turner
Glacier (which curves off tothe viewer's right and distance).
The floor of the Glacier is about 2500 feet above sea
rapidly from our 'Northair' plane at mountain-top altitude
through Pangnirtung Pass especially suited for artists
one of the James Bond movies, a skier skied off the
snow top of this pinnacle. He was to receive $10,000
cash plus expenses if he lived but if he died, his family
was to receive $250,000. I know the man in Frobisher,
Desmond Nicklos, who typed out the contract. The skier
Donald M. Flather,
stayed at the Inn in 1981 on his trip to Baffin Island
to paint this beautiful series of paintings depicting
Canada's Far North.
